Every month, the CINEMA Movie Club offers a chance for all film buffs to finally watch those beloved classic block busters on the big screen again - (naturally) in their original English version. Enjoy!

A Clockwork Orange (Uhrwerk Orange)
USA, 1971 | Length: 136min | FSK: 16 | Director: Stanley Kubrick Cast: Malcolm McDowell, Warren Clarke, Clive Francis, Patrick Magee

Stanley Kubrick (»The Shining«, »Full Metal Jacket«) dissects the nature of violence in this darkly ironic, near-future satire, adapted from Anthony Burgess' novel, following classical music-loving proto-punk delinquent Alex McDowell and his small gang of thugs. The ultra-stylish, excessively violent sci-fi cult film chronicles the horrific crime spree of Alex's gang, his capture, and attempted rehabilitation via controversial psychological conditioning. Ambitious and stylized, Kubrick's poignantly prophetic satire of crime and punishment, redemption and free will, received Oscar nominations as Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay, and remains as unsettling and shocking today as the day it was released. Disturbing and thought-provoking, this cold, dystopian nightmare is a mind shattering cinematic experience.

Starship Troopers
USA, 1997 | Length: 129min | FSK: 18 | Director: Paul Verhoeven Cast: Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer, Denise Richards

Legendary film director Paul Verhoeven (»Total Recall«, »Basic Instinct«, »Robocop«) has fashioned a visually spectacular, morbidly funny comic book adventure that merges the fresh-faced youths of the Archie Comics with the save-the-planet mandate of Buck Rogers. The story follows a young soldier named Johnny Rico and his exploits in the Mobile Infantry, a futuristic military unit. Rico's military career progresses from recruit to NCO and finally to officer against the backdrop of an interstellar war between mankind and an insectoid species known as Arachnids. At once visually dazzling, repulsively thrilling and often downright hilarious, this sci-fi action adventure is pure Verhoeven - broad, brash and ultraviolent.
